Shawn Laplante grew up in southern New Hampshire. He studied film and writing at the University of New Hampshire, Manchester campus, where he recieved a Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts.

He currently lives just outside Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and cat, where he works towards his MFA in Creative Writing.
